June

Wal and Janet's 60th Wedding anniversary was celebrated with a party in the Community Pavilion on St Pancras Green, Kingston. See who you can recognise.

July

I was privileged to be invited to a meeting of the Lewes Gentlemen's Supper Club. Despite the unusually high temperatures, it was decided to keep the dress code of Black Tie because I had gone to the trouble to equip myself with said attire. Thanks for the DJ, BJ!

Marshall is now almost 18 months old, and weights 35 kg. We think (and hope!) he has stopped growing.

August

The annual Gap Bonfire Society was again held in August to take advantage of the cold weather.

September

Olivia had her school formal, which for those of you unfamiliar with the concept, involves parents spending huge amounts on dresses, make-up, nails, prosecco and nibbles. Then there's the stuff for the kids! We hosted a "pre" whereby several of Olivia's friends plus their parents came round for drinks before heading to the school where there were more nibbles, then it was off to the Golf Club for a posh meal. Afterwards a load more of them came round our house for a "post" and socialised until the small hours.

The following day, down the dog park, a largish dog (at least as big as Marshall) ran into me, bending my knee awkwardly sideways. I had to go for an MRI, and have now got to use a stick until it is better.

From my office on the 10th floor I got a pretty good view of the RAAF practising their fly past that they do as part of Riverfire. I also get a good view of the (very noisy) demolition work being carried out - you can see several partly-demolished buildings here. I used to work in two of them.

October

We went along to a beer festival called BeerInCider. Previously held at Albion Park Paceway, this year it moved to the RNA Showgrounds (the Ekka). As well as 300 different beers and ciders, there was excellent musical entertainment, notably City Calm Down on Friday night and Ball Park Music on Saturday.

The swimming pool has developed a leak, so we have had to stop the filter running, and hence the water has gone a little green. The man who turned up to fix the leak arrived while Olivia and her mates were all gathered for their pre-formal (see above). We have yet to refill the pool.

We decided to get our floors done up. Here is the last of the cork floor in the kitchen and family area. Marshall looks a bit guilty!

November

The floors are now finished.

Olivia's years of school are finally over. We all went to the school hall for the "graduation" ceremony.
